Telde municipality is characterised by its artisanal products, such as wicker baskets, Canarian knives, woven fabrics, natural dyes, pottery and iron- and metalwork.

In the municipality’s oldest districts you can visit some of the craftspeople’s ateliers to watch their work in situ and acquire their products. OnSaturdays in the town centre you can visit the market, which on Sundays moves to the Jinámar district. Here you can buy fresh produce and artisanal items.

Orange Fair

Oranges are a widely appreciated citrus fruit in Telde for their high quality and large variety of farms devoted to growing this valued fruit. Thousands of people from around the island come to the Orange Fair staged on the second Sunday of December to taste the island’s best oranges. This popular fair sells oranges and other local produce and stages cookery workshops, children’s workshops and various performances by folklore bands.
